Prepare for an interactive weekend at EDGE’s Members Retreat on June 22 and 23, 2024, at EYE SQUARE in Berlin. This dynamic, member-only event is filled with discussions, projects, and excursions, providing the perfect opportunity for connecting and collaborating with others in the art and neuroscience communities.
This years’ theme “Collective Effervescence” focuses on cultivating a dynamic environment where collective energy and shared experiences foster a sense of community and inspiration. Participants can engage in meaningful discussions, forge new collaborations, and explore their creativity. Whether you’re an artist, a neuroscientist, or somewhere in between, you’ll find a welcoming space to share your ideas and connect with like-minded individuals.

Saturday, June 22

- Kick-off the retreat with a warm welcome, a speed meeting session, and quick icebreaker games.

- Explore EDGE’s future plans, organizational details, and opportunities, alongside engaging activities to maintain a lively atmosphere.

- Participate in a relaxed setting to work on personal projects or join project circle meetings.

- Explore the vibrant science scene in Berlin with a curated excursion as part of the Long Night of Sciences:

15:30 – 18:00 > “Dare to Know?” Workshop by Dimitra Mazaraki
The workshop aims to introduce the fundamentals of neuroscience in a creative context, providing insights into the fascinating world of our brains. Participants will learn about the history, key concepts, and practical uses of neuroscience. Using these insights as inspiration, you’ll have the opportunity to create your own neuro-art pieces.Explore the intersection of art and science with us and gain a new perspective on the brain. Let’s enjoy creating, learning, and discovering together!
All materials will be provided; just bring your curiosity and interest in learning.
18:30 – Open End > Potluck BBQ at Görli
- As the day turns into a pleasant Berlin evening, join us for a relaxed and friendly BBQ. Please bring your own food and drinks to share as we gather to unwind and connect in this urban oasis with other members. It’s the perfect opportunity to foster connections after a day of creativity and collaboration.

The retreat will take place at the EYE SQUARE in Berlin. Located in the heart of Berlin, EYE SQUARE is easily accessible and surrounded by the city’s vibrant cultural scene.
The BBQ will take place at Görlitzer Park (Görli), just a 10-minute walk from EYE SQUARE, providing a relaxed setting for further networking and enjoyment amidst Berlin’s urban charm.
