Call for Treasurer: Join Our Team at EDGE Neuroscience & Art e.V.!

Exciting times are ahead at EDGE Neuroscience & Art, and we’re on the lookout for a proactive and passionate person to join us as the Treasurer to be a core part of it! You will have the opportunity to shape the financial future of EDGE and support the sustainability of this not-for-profit interdisciplinary community.

About the Role

Have you ever been curious about the inner workings of an art and science association? As our Treasurer, you will play a pivotal role in managing our resources. Your main duties will include overseeing the financial administration, reviewing procedures and financial reporting, advising the team on financial strategy, and contributing to fundraising efforts. As Treasurer is a legal position within the association (Verein), you cannot be paid for that. However, there may be some tasks we could provide compensation for, and we are open to discussion about this!

Your Responsibilities

Although you will be legally responsible for the following points, you needn’t complete each one yourself, only that you oversee the tasks being completed. You may also be supported by a freelance accountant who will take care of many of the accounting tasks if needed. You will also be fully supported by the founders in your onboarding for the first months.

  • Overview of ongoing expenses and income
  • Managing EDGE bank account
  • EDGE tax return completion
  • Processing and collecting membership fees
  • Admin of invoices from artists and freelancers
  • Involvement in project funding applications
  • Advisory role for project budgets
  • Strategies for event ticketing and refunds
  • Strategy development
  • Regular reporting back to organization team members about resources available for projects

What We’re Looking For

We need someone with a passion for the not-for-profit sector at the intersection of art and science. Your commitment is crucial, requiring at least 1 year, with flexible 1-2 hours per week available for the tasks or meetings. The core team meets every 2 weeks for 1 hour, so a team spirit and a heart for our growing community are essential. While a background in financial administration/accounting is desired, it’s not required.

How to Apply

Ready to begin, or want to find our more? Send an email outlining your interest and relevant experience to info@edge-neuro.art. The deadline for applications is 20th February, as our elections for this role are on the 26th of February at 7 pm during our next member’s meeting.

Your enthusiastic involvement as our Treasurer is key to the continued success and growth of EDGE. We’re eager to welcome anyone who shares our passion for interdisciplinary communities. Let’s develop the exciting world of neuroscience & art together!
